Working principle and advantages of horizontal cement silo

Introduction

horizontal cement silo

Morizontal cement silo, also known as a containerized cement silo, is a commonly used cement storage facility. Its structure primarily consists of a silo body, inlet and outlet ports, exhaust port, and rotary conveyor. The silo is square, supported at the bottom by several legs. The discharge cone is a square cone welded from a frame of corrugated sheet metal and profiles, resulting in a relatively low overall height. Due to its corrosion resistance and sealing properties, it is suitable for storing various bulk materials, including cement and fly ash. A material level indicator displays the location and quantity of the material, and a vibration device prevents clumping.

Main Components

horizontal cement silo

Transmission: Primarily responsible for assisting the unloading and conveying functions of the cement silo body. Common transmission systems include hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic.
Cement silo body: Generally constructed of three common materials: environmentally friendly steel, fiberglass reinforced plastic, and cast concrete.
Automatic Control: To reduce operator workload, automatic control devices are used to improve equipment reliability. Discharge device: Mainly used to remove cement from the cement silo, with manual and mechanical unloading methods.

Working Principle

During cement storage, sealed silo prevents leakage during transportation. Once cement enters the silo, it is stored. To discharge, the rotary conveyor is activated, collecting cement from the feed inlet and conveying it along the conveyor's spiral blades toward the silo's discharge port. Discharge valve is opened, and the cement flows out of the discharge port under gravity. Simultaneously, to minimize dust pollution, the dust removal device is activated, using filtration or other methods to capture cement dust generated during the feeding and discharging processes.

Application Advantages

horizontal cement silo

Small Footprint: Horizontal cement silos are compact, requiring significantly less floor space than vertical cement silos, making them ideal for use where space is limited.
Excellent Material Flowability: The ingenious design of the rotary conveyor allows cement to flow naturally during transportation, significantly reducing the occurrence of clumping.
Stable Operation: The motor-driven rotary conveyor not only operates stably and quietly, but also effectively extends the equipment's service life.

Overall, horizontal cement silo, with their simple structure, excellent material flowability, and stable operation, are the preferred cement storage equipment for construction sites and concrete batching plants. Their high efficiency and reliability provide a solid material supply for various projects, making them an indispensable component of modern construction.
